Foreigners intending to reside in China are required to apply for a residence permit within 30 days at the date of their entry.

There are 2 types of Residence permits: 　　

 

(1) For work purposes;

•Applicants must provide their passport or other international travel documents (or relevant certification documents such as a work permit), compliant photographs, all material related to the purpose of application, and biometric identification information such as fingerprints.

 

(2) for long-term studies in China;

•Applicants must provide their passports or other international travel documents, all relevant information related to the purpose of application, (certification documents such as a letter from the admitting institution indicating the duration of study), and provide fingerprints.
